Fired by hand, layer by layer

Minankari is Georgian cloisonné enamel, made the same way since the Middle Ages. Our enamellers bend fine silver wire into the outline of each scene and set it on a sterling silver plate. Every cell is filled with ground glass and fired, then filled and fired again until the colour is deep and level.
